Were Levi's finished this way in the 50's?"<br /><br />I'm pretty sure that all the denim that Levi's used before 1983 was made on projectile looms (selvedge), and was unsanforized until about 1961. Not sure about Lee, Wrangler, or other jeans brands. So most likely, yes, all kids in the 50's were wearing unsanforized, selvedge jeans.
